Connecticut Children’s is dedicated to enhancing the professional and personal lives of our valued team members. We offer a selection of health, dental, and life insurance plans, contribution matching for retirement savings, paid time off, and tuition assistance among other valuable programs.

Eligibility

Connecticut Children’s team members must work at least 20 hours per week to be eligible for health and welfare benefits. Coverage begins on the date of hire. Individuals hired as per diem are welcome to participate in the Retirement Savings Plan and are eligible for the employer match, but they are not eligible for other benefits.

Benefits

Connecticut Children’s offers a Point of Service (POS) plan and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA) that includes an employer contribution.

Two Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) dental plans are offered. Both cover preventive care, plus basic and major restorative services. One plan also includes orthodontia benefits for employees, plus qualifying adult and child dependents.

Vision coverage provides up to $150 per member per year toward the cost of glasses or contact lenses. Additional discounts apply to eyewear features.

Team members can set aside earnings on a pre-tax basis in a flexible spending account to pay for certain out-of-pocket health care related expenses and/or dependent care services costs.

Connecticut Children’s sponsors a 403(b) savings plan comprised of three components:

  • Employee contributions (up to the IRS maximum annually)
  • Matching contribution
  • Annual employer contribution for eligible employees

All new employees are automatically enrolled in the retirement savings plan.

Connecticut Children’s encourages continuous learning and development. We offer tax-free tuition reimbursement of up to $5,000 each calendar year (pro-rated for part-time status). Team Members are eligible for this benefit starting with the semester that follows their date of hire.

Team Members receive a discount for childcare services through Kindercare facilities.  A salary-based subsidy opportunity may be available.

Connecticut Children’s provides some level of group life insurance at no cost. Additional coverage for employees, a spouse, domestic partner and dependent children is also available.

Coverage under the following voluntary benefit programs can be purchased:

We offer a flexible approach to Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for vacation, sick, holiday and personal days. Employees accrue PTO beginning with their first pay period. Additional PTO hours are accrued during the year based on years of employment and job category.

Short Term Disability (STD) provides up to 60 percent of base pay, up to $1,500 per week, for an employee’s own accident, illness or injury. Maximum approval is 90 days. This program pays a 6-week benefit for maternity.

Long Term Disability provides 60 percent of salary, up to $12,500 per month, after a 90-day elimination period.
