Our Culture

Connecticut Children’s is transforming children’s health and well-being as one team. We hold each other accountable for kindness, empathy and helpfulness, and we ask all who enter our doors to do the same. In doing so, we make Connecticut Children’s a place where we all feel respected, a sense of belonging, and empowered to be the best we can be in service to our mission and each other.

We’re proud of our state-of-the-art facilities, compassionate care, and innovative community programs, but what we’re most proud of is our commitment to always putting children first. That shows up in many special ways:

  • Superheroes: In April, we celebrate Superhero Day, donning masks and capes to celebrate the real superheroes: our patients.
  • Halloween: Team members go reverse trick-or-treating, handing out goodie bags to patients spending the holiday at the Medial Center.
  • Pajama Day: In December, team members wear their pajamas during PJ Day for the Kids, an event where we stand in solidarity with our cancer patients who often wear their comfy, cozy pajamas during chemo treatment.
  • Winter Holidays: The Family Resource Center turns into the Snowflake Shop. It’s filled with donated presents to make holiday shopping a little easier for parents of patients spending the holidays at the Medial Center.
