Why Connecticut Children’s
The number of hip disorders in children can be overwhelming. Connecticut Children’s fellowship-trained pediatric surgeons have over 25 years combined experience in treating these conditions. We’re specialists in both surgical and non-surgical options to achieve the best possible outcome for your child.
The Hip Program at Connecticut Children’s is the only program in the state to offer complex pelvic osteotomies – for example, Ganz or periacetabular osteotomies – to treat teenage and young adult patients with hip dysplasia. We are one of the few programs in the nation to offer the complex approach of surgical hip dislocation to treat diseases such as slipped capital femoral epiphysis. In addition, we specialize in minimally invasive hip arthroscopy, an advanced approach to treating joint problems without making a large incision.
